The team at Nutrition for Life have put their ‘Hands Up for Change’ and ask you to join us in our pledge to reduce sugar and processed food, bringing back vegetables and healthy fat.

We want to be the change-makers in health, not just in Tasmania but right across Australia, and we want to work with others who are equally as passionate.

Change Day is a people led, accessible and energetic social movement for better health outcomes. #changedayaus gives us the opportunity to pledge, raise awareness and lead changes. On our own it can sometimes seem quite daunting, but together, our potential to create change is huge and exciting.

We believe that reducing sugars, processed carbohydrates and including a healthy balance of naturally occurring saturated and mono-saturated fats in people’s diet will lead to improved health outcomes. Our approach is based on Lower Carbohydrate and Healthy natural Fat (LCHF) principles, which encourages eating a wide variety of fresh, local and seasonal food, including lots of vegetables and moderate amounts of protein.

Our qualified team includes Accredited Practising Dietitians, a Credentialled Diabetes Educator and Nutritional Consultant to provide people with the knowledge, tools and personalised support they need to reach their full health potential.

Our vision | Improved health outcomes for individuals, their families, and the broader community by focusing on diet and nutrition.
Our mission |
Empower people to take back control of their health.
I Tell me and I may forget. Show me and I may remember. Involve me and I will learn.

We work together to support people with a range of health issues, including:

  • General healthy eating and meal planning
  • Weight management
  • Type 1 diabetes and Type 2 diabetes
  • High blood pressure and high cholesterol
  • Food intolerance's and allergies
  • Gastrointestinal disorders and symptoms
  • Cancer management
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Nutritional deficiencies
  • Sports nutrition for performance and training

There is no question that our health is directly linked to our nutrition. Our increased reliance on processed food over the last few decades has seen an increased incidence of virtually all diseases. It is time for change.

Our team approach makes a big difference to how people engage, understand and use information on nutrition to make decisions about their health and health care. Our wrap around services start from the 'inside out', focusing on developing an understanding of food as an energy source, rather than medication in response to disease processes. We begin by asking what people want to know, rather than telling them what to do. Co creating resources with our clients and developing workshops to engage our community will allow us to help more people understand why the reduction of sugar and processed foods, the inclusion of more vegetables (especially green leafy ones) and the reintroduction of healthy fat is so important.

Preventative and supportive healthcare programs like ours will not only save governments and communities from the burgeoning costs of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, mental health issues and cancer, but more importantly, it will allow individuals and their families to take back control of their health.

Supporting our pledge “Hands Up for Change” will make a difference. Will you join us?
