One of the first steps to making more informed and mindful decisions about what you eat is learning how to read nutrition information panels. A few years ago now, I (Kate) spent over two hours browsing the supermarket aisles with Dr. Gary Fettke, picking up different products, comparing food labels, reading ingredient lists, and gaping in surprise at the not-so-healthy foods I had been fuelling my body with for decades.
